My name is Christine O Cheallaigh (well, not really, but it's the name I use online and is close enough to my real name). I've been blogging for a couple years now (on WordPress.com), and writing for way longer than that. My WordPress blog is called Christine's Place, and if you participated in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge in 2018 you might have noticed my posts on there. I tried to participate last year, but was way too busy with work to get online as much as I would have liked, so I only got a couple entries posted. I think we might have been having internet issues at the time as well, so that would also have been a factor. I'm going to give it a shot again this year, though, so stay tuned! If I manage it, I'll be using my WordPress blog for it again, so you'll have to wander over that way to read my entries.
In case you couldn't tell from this post's title, I'm a big Tron fan (and sci-fi/fantasy geek in general). I even quoted Sark in an essay I wrote for my English Composition class in business college. I don't know what my instructor thought of it, but I liked it. Some of the fandoms I belong to include (but are definitely not limited to) Lord of the Rings, Supernatural, Star Wars, Star Trek (yes, you can belong to both fandoms!), Harry Potter (I even got my Hogwarts letter! It was a Christmas present from a couple years ago), Constantine (I prefer the TV show over the movie, though I thought Keanu did a great job in the role), Charmed (the original, not that travesty of a reboot), The Matrix, Arrow, Doctor Who and Torchwood, and Xena: Warrior Princess, just to name a few.
If you head over to my other blog and read my posts, you'll see just how obsessed I am with a few of these (cough *Harry Potter* cough), and won't be a bit surprised to learn that I'm writing several novel-length fan fiction stories based in said world(s). I'll probably never publish them on any of the fan fiction sites, mostly because I write for myself and not others. I write because if I didn't get the words out of my head and onto paper (so to speak), I'd go even crazier than I already am (did I mention my fandom obsessions?), and that wouldn't be a good thing for anyone, least of all me, so I write. The stories would probably sound like crap to anyone else besides me anyway, and as I don't care what anyone else thinks about my writing or any other aspect of my life, I simply keep it to myself. I stick to posting the one-shots that I write on my blog, and if anyone wants to read them, they are more than welcome to do so. If not, that's okay too. I like them more than enough for everyone else, and I crack myself up re-reading them every once in a while. I think I have a great sense of humor, if somewhat skewed (cough *totally off my rocker* cough).
Anyway, welcome to my blog, and I hope you have as much fun reading it as I do writing it! "Buckle up, Dorothy, cause Kansas is about to go bye-bye!"
